What is the TVWizard MCP server?

TVWizard connects AIs to Android TVs through a hosted relay at tv.djwizard.ai and a local bridge app. The bridge initiates outbound connections, enabling remote control while keeping the TV secure behind its network.

Commands flow via the Model Context Protocol, supporting key presses, app launches, title playback, and real-time screen observation. Early access is free with GDPR-compliant hosting in Frankfurt.

Tools it exposes

tv.list_devicesLists TVs paired to your account.
tv.send_keySends a key: POWER, HOME, UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT, OK, BACK, VOL_UP/DOWN.
tv.launch_appOpens an Android Intent — YouTube deep links, Netflix titles, any HTTPS URL.
tv.list_appsEnumerates installed apps so your AI knows what's available.
tv.play_titleResolves titles to a country-specific provider deep link via TMDB + JustWatch.
tv.observeReads back the TV screen state: foreground app, focused element, visible clickable nodes.

Example prompts

Once connected, try asking your AI client:

What's currently playing on my living-room TV?
Put on Stranger Things season 1 episode 1 on the bedroom TV.
Launch YouTube and play the latest tech review video.
Turn the volume down and send the HOME key on the kitchen TV.

Security & permissions

Requires pairing with a 6-digit code and bearer token for the cloud relay; the open-source bridge app runs locally on the TV with outbound WebSocket connections only.
